Help Women Suffering from Secondhand Stress

By supporting our Women-Life-Freedom Initiative

Our Woman-Life-Freedom Initiative provides free health coaching to women living in America and affected by the suffering of their families, friends and fellow citizens in their countries of origin, i.e., countries ravaged by repression and violence. These women often suffer (silently) from stress, anxiety, fear and hopelessness.

Our focus is on women who are contributing members of their community yet cannot afford professional help. Their diminishing wellbeing, if not addressed, will erode their productivity, affect their physical health and have a ripple effect around them. In many cases, they can be helped by health coaching, a much less expensive and stigmatized alternative to medical treatment. Health coaching is a non-medical approach for improving and maintaining one’s health and wellness. It focuses on the person as a whole—mind, body, and spirit. Per Harvard Publishing “Coaching is effective for people managing a variety of health conditions.”1

You may know a woman to help, in which case you can contribute using the Sponsor A Woman You Know option to help her. Else, you can support the Initiative with the Sponsor Women In Need Sponsor Women In Need option. These contributions are pooled to help women identified by local community channels with whom we collaborate.

Coaching prices for the Initiative are discounted by 5% from our normal pricing. In addition, we contribute 5% of our corporate earnings to the Initiative.

Candidates must be 18 or older, be in the U.S. when receiving health coaching and be able to communicate in English.

If you would like to sponsor a woman who is not in financial need, you are giving a “gift”. Please use our Gift Card option with normal coaching prices.

Frequently Asked Questions: Health Coaching

1

What is health coaching?

Health coaching is a non-medical approach for improving and maintaining one’s health and wellness. It focuses on the person as a whole—mind, body, and spirit. Health coaches enable the reflection and awareness needed to define personal goals, develop a plan of action, and navigate the journey ahead. They offer the support necessary to make challenging goals achievable.

Health and wellness coaches are trained professionals who support you to get through life challenges. For example, it’s no secret that stress levels in modern society are shooting up—affecting people’s lifestyles and health by triggering an illness or worsening an existing health issue. In women, chronic stress can cause depression, anxiety, menstrual problems, obesity, and change in bowel movements. Finding a support system to cope with life’s increasing demands makes good sense; it improves quality of life and saves future health care costs. This is where health and wellness coaches come into the picture.
2

Are health coaching and medical care related?

Health coaching is a complementary approach (to conventional medicine) for improving one’s health and wellness. It does not replace the need for conventional medicine. Doctors have embraced health coaching because of its efficacy.
3

Does health coaching work?

Scientific studies have shown that health coaching is one of the best ways to make and sustain healthy lifestyle choices. Health coaching is shown to substantially improve self-motivation, health behaviors, and health outcomes, while reducing health cost.
4

Does online health coaching work?

Health coaching has traditionally been face-to-face. Studies have shown online coaching to be equally effective. As a result, health coaching is moving online, overcoming location and schedule barriers.
5

How to know if I need a health coach?

The first sign that you may need a health coach is the constant lack of holistic health and well-being, which means being physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially fit. In other words, if you (or your loved one) have been struggling to meet your health goals, losing productivity, feeling anxious, depressed, or confused, and facing issues at work or in your personal life, it is time to seek help and start working with a Ginger-U health and wellness coach. So, do not suffer in silence. Instead, act now to take control of your life.
6

How do I know if health coaching is for me?

The health coaches at Ginger-U will help improve your health and inspire a sense of meaning in life. They will help you address imbalances, disengage from bad habits, and lead a healthier lifestyle.

If you are motivated and ready to commit to making changes in your life that will bring you greater health and happiness, then Ginger-U health coaching is for you.
7

What if I try health coaching and don’t like it?

You may discontinue coaching at any time after your coaching begins, even during a health coaching session. If you no longer want health coaching sessions for any reason, please email a stop service notice to compliance@ginger-u.com stating that you want to stop receiving health coaching services. Please see the Cancellations, Rescheduling, Refunds, and No-Shows for the appropriate timing of such notice and the associated refund policy.
8

How are Ginger-U health coaches trained?

Our coaches are National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coaches. The NBC-HWC certification is the most respected training and education credential in the profession. They also hold one or more specialization certifications. At Ginger-U, we are very selective when it comes to our coaches, insisting that they have an appropriate level of education and experience so our clients can achieve optimum results.
9

What is Ginger-U’s approach to health coaching?

Our coaches give you the knowledge, guidance, skills, tools, and self-confidence to improve your wellbeing. They help you understand your current state and guide you to define your goals, develop your plan, and navigate the path ahead. They encourage and support you, while also holding you accountable.
10

What should I look for in a health coach?

Quality, fit, and cost. Ginger-U’s coaches are top quality as evidenced by their certifications. Our pricing is in line with industry standards and very reasonable considering the quality of our coaches. So, focus on fit, i.e., a coach that has experience in your areas of need.
